Day 1: Airport - Colombo - Arrival

Arrive at Colombo International Airport

Here, you will be met by a designated chauffeur guide, you will be transferred to the Hotel to check in and start with your sightseeing. The places of interest are a Buddhist temple (Gangarama and Seemamalaka), Cinnamon Gardens’ residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH)- an outright gift to Sri Lanka from the People's Republic of China, NelumPokuna theatre, the latest landmark in Colombo, and Galle Face Green, the promenade on the sea face which was used for horse racing a hundred years ago it is now the largest open space in Colombo and a favorite haunt for people of all ages.

Day 2: Colombo - Pinnawala - Sigiriya Rock Fortress

After Breakfast at the Hotel, proceed to Sigiriya.

 

Enroute you can visit one of the most important tourist attraction in Sri Lanka, the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. Volunteers and caretakers provide shelter and take care of orphaned, abandoned and injured elephants within the park. You can watch caretakers feed, bathe and help these gentle giants. You will walk with the herd to the nearby river to watch the elephants bathe and play around in water.

 

Then proceed to Sigiriya Rock Fortress.  (Option 1)

 

the “Fortress in the Sky” and see the remains of the Palace on the summit, Lion-staircase, Sigiri Graffiti- the verses written on the Mirror Wall, Paintings of the Damsels-Light coloured (Vijjulatha) and Dark coloured (Megalatha) in "fresco-en-secco" and the beautifully designed Pleasure Garden (Water garden, boulder garden), the caves with pre-Christian inscriptions, remains of inner & outer fortifications.       

 

Or Minneriya National Park (Option 2)

 

It is the largest known meeting place of Asian Elephants in the world. During this period herd up to 300 elephants are seen at the 8,890 hectare park within a few square kilometers of the Minneriya Reservoir. In August and September each year during the dry season, wild elephants from the surrounding wilderness in search of food and water, make their way to the shores of the Minneriya Reservoir adjoining the Minneriya National Park. Huge herd of elephants, sometimes numbering up to 300, converge together within a few square kilometers of the lake.

 

 

Later, enjoy dinner at the hotel, evening at leisure.

Day 3: Sigiriya - Dambulla - Kandy

After breakfast, proceed to Kandy.

 

Enroute visit Dambulla Cave Temple.

These 80 or more caves tell of the inhabitants dating back to the 3rd Century BCE. Five main caves hold the holy Buddhist shrines. 

 

On the way you can enjoy the Sri Lanka’s world renowned spices at their source. Visit a spice garden, where smells of cinnamons, pepper, cardamom, nutmeg and mace overwhelm the senses and the visitors are provided an insight into an age old industry of spice production, which attracted many a European and Asian merchants to the ports of ancient Sri Lanka.

 

Evening visit Dalada Maligawa, the sacred Tooth Relic Temple, which houses a Buddhist relic – the tooth of Buddha. The temple is one of the world heritages as well as a sacred place for the Buddhists all over the world; namely the Temple of tooth Relic known to the Sri Lankans as “Dalada Maligawa”

The lake was created by the last king of the Kandyan Empire and is artificial. It is also the focal point of the city. The end close to the temple of the tooth is very busy, but the far end is quiet and lovely for a walk in the evening. You can also get boats at the jetty and enjoy a boat ride. 

You can join Open Door Ceremony In Dalada Maligawa on following day morning.

Day 4: Kandy - Nwara Eliya

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your onward journey to Sri Lanka’s ‘Little England’ – Nuwara Eliya.

 

You will feel a clean and splendid climate, incredible views of the valleys, mountains, and meadows and lots of greenery are what attract tourist to this destination. On the way enjoy the great views of the famous Ramboda Falls.

Later in the day, you can plan a short visit to one of the many tea factories in the region and understand the production process before you enjoy a steaming cup of some of the world’s finest Orange Pekoe tea.

End the day with a great dinner at the hotel restaurant before you retire for the night.

 

 

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya - Bentota

After breakfast at the hotel, head to Kitugala where you can enjoy a session of rafting. (optional)

 

After a long journey enjoy the sunset at the lovely beach.

 

Then, get a good night’s rest to prepare yourself for the next day.

 

The day ends with a savoury dinner at your hotel before you retire to your room for the night.

Day 6: Bentota

After a relaxed morning and breakfast before heading out to the fascinating Madu River.

 

Madu River Boat Safari (Option 1)

Take the Madu River Boat Safari and enjoy the cruise amidst mangroves and distinct flora and fauna including the water monitor lizards, and kingfishers among others, while you pass by the various islets on the cruise. 

Or Whale watching at Mirissa (Option 2)

Whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa is one of the most exciting water activities you can do in Sri Lanka during your holiday. Mirissa is the best place to start your whale and dolphin watching tour in Sri Lanka. Whale watching season in Mirissa is from November till April.

 

Then Go the see the Turtule Hatchery. Get the sound knowledge about the Turtules. After that proceed to Hotel and enjoy the evening in the beach.

Day 7: Bentota- Airport

Wake up on the last day in Bentota and have some delectable breakfast at your hotel before heading out to the scenic drive to the international airport for your departing flight and a safe journey home.
