Day 1: Reykjavik Airport- Reykjavik - Arrival

After arriving at Keflavik - Reykjavik airport, you will be transferred to  Reykjavik.

After reaching, you will have dinner at leisure. 

 

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Reykjavik - Kulusuk

After having breakfast at leisure, you will head back on your own to Reykjavik domestic airport. You take a flight to Kulusuk located on the East coast of Greenland. 

We will start by visiting the tiny village of Kulusuk which has 290 inhabitants. 

 

You will have dinner at an Inuit local house.

Day 3: Kulusuk - Tiniteqilaq

After a delicious breakfast at the Inuit house, we will embark on a local boat to sail from Kulusuk to Tiniteqilaq, through the great Angmagssalik fjord.

During the navigation we will visit the abandoned village of Qnertivartivit located in a small island of the Ikasartivaq fjord, to reach the traditional tiny village of Tiniteqilaq with around 250 inhabitants.

 

Enjoy a Picnic lunch during route.

 

After lunch, we will visit the village of Tiniteqilaq. We will discover that this area is one of the few places in the world where still is used the dogsled as a main way of transport in the winter season.

 

We will have dinner at an Inuit local house.

Day 4: Tiniteqilaq

Enjoy your Breakfast at the Inuit local house, then we will trek through the isthmus where is settled Tiniteqilaq village, to reach the top of a mountain at an altitude of 400 metres high above the sea level. Once on top of the mountain, we will enjoy the amazing view of the great Sermilik, a big fjord flooded by icebergs as huge as tall buildings, born from three glaciers: Helheim, Apuserajik and Midgar glaciers. 

 

We will enjoy a Picnic lunch.

Day 5: Sailing Day- Wildlife watching

After breakfast, we will sail on a local boat along the great Sermilik fjord, skirting the big island of Angmagssalik. While navigating, the ones who wish, could swim among ancient icebergs with a thermal and waterproof suit. Spectacular photos guaranteed! 

 

We will be sailing inside the Nagtivit fjord, called the Blue Diamond Bay because of the beautiful iceberg with blue cobalt colours that dot the bay. We might easily spot seals.

We will disembark in order to access Greenland polar icecap, the second biggest ice mass on Earth. Here, on the ice, we will do an easy route on foot. 

After enjoying a Picnic lunch, we will reach the abandoned village of Ikateq located at the entrance of the Sermilik fjord that merges with the great Ocean. This village is preserved intact as it was left by its inhabitants. During our sailing tour we will have lot of chances to see whales, polar bears, and other arctic wildlife.

Day 6: Kulusuk - Free Day

After breakfast, you will have a free day at leisure. Today, we will have the chance to rest, relax, strolling around Kulusuk or making an optional route by local boat to Sermiligaq fjord to see the Karale and Knud Rasmussen glaciers that meet at the end of the fjord. This is one of place on Earth where is possible to see most clearly the enormous receding (several kilometres) of the glaciers happened during the last 10 years.

Day 7: Kulusuk - Reykjavik

After Breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport to fly back  to Reykjavik. You will then, be transferred to your accommodation in Reykjavik, independently.

Today you will fly back or you could combine this itinerary with another one to discover Iceland. Please contact us if you want us to help you.
